KEY POINTS
The Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper skins are rumored to make a
comeback in Fortnite after a seven-year absence. Recent leaks suggest that these
skins could be available in the game's shop starting December 19.
A well-known Fortnite leaker has disclosed that the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper skins,
which have not appeared in the item shop for more than seven years, might be making a comeback in the game.
The return of older cosmetics often evokes strong emotions among Fortnite players. Historically,
Epic Games has sought to satisfy fans who possess these cosmetics by offering additional styles exclusive to "OG players." However, it appears
that this approach will not be applied to the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper skins.
Following the release of Chapter 6 Season 1 of the widely acclaimed battle royale in early December, Epic Games introduced several new modes,
including Ballistic, Fortnite OG, and Brick Life. The nostalgic mode Fortnite OG quickly gained popularity, allowing players to experience the game as
it was during its initial launch in September 2017. Both new and returning players were drawn to this mode, motivated by a sense of curiosity and nostalgia.
A notable Fortnite leaker, ShiinaBR, announced on Twitter that the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper skins are set to return to the item shop on December 19.
These cosmetics have not been available since December 13, 2017, leading to considerable surprise among fans regarding this unexpected development.
Although these skins were not part of a battle pass and did not carry a promise of exclusivity, many players anticipated that Epic Games would maintain a level of respect for the original fans from 2017 by keeping these cosmetics unavailable.
However, with the recent launch of Fortnite OG, it appears that Epic Games is offering players another opportunity to acquire these classic items. This change is not the first to spark controversy within Fortnite OG, as many fans have recently expressed their dissatisfaction with the introduction of skill-based matchmaking in this popular mode.
