A recent leak suggests that Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 could feature the reintroduction of the Ripsaw Launcher.
This weapon was initially introduced in Chapter 3 Season 3 allowing players to fire sawblades as its name indicates.
However Epic Games removed this powerful projectile weapon from the loot pool in the fourth season of that chapter
and it has not been available since. Although the introduction of Chainsaws added some excitement during Chapter 5 they too were short-lived in the battle royale experience.
If the leaked information regarding the upcoming seasonal update is accurate, it seems that the Ripsaw Launcher may be making a comeback.
Ripsaw Launcher may return in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2
In November 2024, a Fortnite leaker known as Blortzen discovered a new plugin referred to as “SpikyBird” intended for the battle royale mode.
It was speculated that the plugin would be revealed during the ongoing Chapter 6 of Fortnite.
On January 7, 2025, Blortzen reported encountering SpikyBird once more asserting in a social media update that Chapter 6 Season 2 will introduce a gameplay feature called SpikyBird’ associated with the Ripsaw Launcher.
As highlighted by HYPEX this announcement serves as the initial hint for Chapter 6 Season 2 which is anticipated to commence on February 21.
The specifics of the anticipated new feature continue to elude understanding with even industry insiders unable to provide clarity at this time.
However if it is scheduled for release in the upcoming season, players can expect to receive information from Epic in the near future.
In the interim, Fortnite has a wealth of additional content planned for players as Season 1 progresses. For instance the Godzilla Evolved skin is set to be offered as a Battle Pass reward in the forthcoming major update.
